For My Valentine

Happy Valentine's Day!

Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, it always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.

More Snow...

Looking outside now, it's hard to believe that just this morning we were still experiencing a winter storm. Earlier this morning skies were gray and snow was falling heavily to the ice covered ground, blanketing it all in a beautiful, light white powder. It was beautiful to witness, just as it was yesterday and the day before. I still find it hard to believe that it snowed three days in a row. We are not used to this type of weather here. You often see people here wearing flip flops during the winter at times. Now, the sun is out and the snow has melted from the trees except in shady spots. The winter wonderland effect is beginning to fade leaving behind slush and ice, neither of which are particularly nice to look at in my opinion. Before it all disappeared, I captured some of out winter moments.

Snow Day Pics

Here is a picture of our lightly snowed in backyard this morning after we received our second snow in less than a month. :)

And here are some shots from our backyard during the snowy weather a couple of weeks ago. Photos are courtesy of G. Rhue.

Lessons in Faith Family Love

Well I imagine you may be wondering what happened with the car. Well, the light is still on but it is not performing adversely as it did last week which sparked major concern. We did contact the repair shop and were reassured that they would evaluate it to determine what is behind the light coming on this time as a courtesy without a fee. That, at least, was good to hear. Hopefully the rest won't be so bad. But even if it is, it will be okay, even when it does not feel like it is. Because just as Jesus held me in his perfect arms last week and every time before and in between, I am assured that He will be there once again and bring us through as He always does and always has. I continue to praise Him, through it all.

And if that wasn't reason enough to praise him already, here is another. My husband serves at our church in a ministry that provides a meal and spiritual nourishment monthly to the homeless in our area. Earlier this week, he was notified that there would be no one available to prepare the chicken for the meal. Usually, this is not a problem as my husband would just purchase the prepared chicken from a local supermarket, no big deal, but with a budget that is already tight, that presented a major issue. But in faith, he ordered the chicken for the meal and would you believe that by mid-week a check was in the mail in an amount that would pretty much cover the cost of the chicken. Can you say amazing? I can and have and will continue to praise God for his goodness.
